Fuorisalone 2009: Evolving Stones by FMGxtreme_Lab [re]inventing natural stone

To mark Fuorisalone 2009, SpazioFMG per l’Architettura is hosting FMGxtreme_Lab.
From 22 to 26 April the gallery will welcome a number of leading architects: Andrea Boschetti (Metrogramma), Cherubino Gambardella (Gambardella Architetti), Gianluca Peluffo e Alfonso Femia (5+1AA SRL), Francesco Librizzi, Giancarlo Marzorati, Pietro Carlo Pellegrini, Filippo Pagliani e Michele Rossi (Park Associati).
With the physical and virtual assistance of the FMG laboratory staff, they will all be creating their own FMGxtreme textures, generating the first range of natural stones born from architects’ invention and to meet their needs, actually moving beyond the frontiers of what can be achieved with natural quarried stone.
FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti thus makes its return to its Milan exhibition venue at via Bergognone with an evolution of the FMGxtreme workshop-project, where its fine, ecosustainable materials become the protagonists of “extreme interpretations” by architects and designers always in search of innovative expressive media.
“The future of architecture needs sustainable materials of real quality, which are also innovative in stylistic terms. The FMG event at Fuorisalone presents the FMGxtreme Evolving Stones project to the world, including the Nature 2.0 collection-line. It is the first range of manufactured natural slabs to spring from architects’ creativity, offering a uniquely exclusive, crafted character. Unique, experimental pieces, the outcome of an original design process customised to an architect or designer’s needs. The top of the range of an innovative, trend-setting brand, which maintains a real, direct dialogue with the world of architecture” comments Luca Molinari, FMG artistic director and curator.
During the Fuorisalone, FMGxtreme_Lab will also be open to the public, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the FMG laboratory to view and touch the powdered stones that are the heart of the slab, the spirit and essence of its Evolving Stones.
